Class "Web"

Hi there, I am Jodi and this is my first time blogging. I am giving this a try due to an assignment for my Web Development class. So there will be questions regarding class information. I am going to kick this off by answering some questions about a website i had to research.

WOW- World Organization of Webmasters, www.joinwow.org

*How can you join WOW? What does it cost to join?
Obviously you would have to be on the sites page, www.joinwow.org. At the top of the page there are labeled tabs, one of which is Join. Click on it and it brings you to another page. This page contains all the annual fees for the site. There are several different groups to which may include one self, such as Student- $29, Government/Educational- $49, Individual- $69 (all of which can be purchased on the same page.). The following groups require a notification to Bill Cullifer for details; Corporate, Small Business, High School, Community College, and University.

*List one of the events that WOW participates in. Would you like to attend this event? Why or why not?
Currently there is only one upcoming event that WOW has listed and that is the IT Innovation Summit-Sacramento. Following is a list of benefits to attending this event;
  • Network with education and industry, business professionals in a peer environment
  • Find out where the IT Jobs are and what resources are available to help students land them
  • Meet with and hear from acknowledged IT industry and community leaders
  • Renew and/or develop industry and community contacts and partnerships
  • Discover best practices in the classroom for teaching IT
  • Share experiences, information and tips with peers
I would attend due to the amount of information I could possible gain that I don’t currently know.

*List three ways that WOW can help you in your future career as a Web Developer.
WOW provides education as well as certification, technical, employment and member advantage services that will help me further my career.
